To ensure your connection remains permanently watertight, you should perform the initial installation carefully. The connection thread is made of high-quality, durable ABS plastic. It’s deliberately manufactured with high precision to ensure a reliable and secure connection later on.
1. Remove the shower hose
First, unscrew the existing showerhead from your shower hose.
2. Prepare the ABS thread
The plastic thread will be very tight during the initial installation. This is completely normal and ensures a secure fit later on.
We therefore recommend the following preparation:
- Always align the thread straight.
- Carefully use pliers to screw the shower hose union nut a little way onto the plastic thread.
- Tighten it only slightly, then unscrew it again.
- This allows the thread to settle in, making the final installation much easier.
3. Always align the thread straight
Then position the shower hose exactly straight on the thread and begin screwing it on carefully.
Important: The thread must never be positioned at an angle or crooked. If it does not turn easily, unscrew it immediately and reposition it straight.
4. Final assembly
First, screw the shower hose onto the thread as far as possible by hand. Then, using pliers, carefully tighten it until it reaches the thread stop.
Please do not overtighten. Tightening it too much does not improve the seal and can damage the thread.
Important Notes
- Never force the threads to screw on.
- Make sure the first few threads engage cleanly.
- If the thread is misaligned, it can permanently damage the ABS thread.
- If the hose is difficult to screw on, unscrew it and reposition it straight.
- Careful initial installation ensures a permanently tight and secure connection.
